San Marcos is the classic Costa Rica Tarrazu coffee; it is very well-balanced with a heavy body and slightly winey acidity. Roasted dark, we tasted milk chocolate and marzipan in the cup.

San Marcos is the classic Tarrazu coffee; it is very well-balanced with high, slightly winey acidity. Roasted light, we tasted fruity pineapple and hibiscus in the cup. The dense beans that make up San Marcos lend themselves well to many different styles of roasting.

The Women Producer coffee from CODECH is a special program, and has been one of the catalysts for our expanded Women Producers collaborations. Coffees in this lot are 100% from women-owned or -managed farms. The women growers are paid a premium to have their lots separated out for this specific offering, and the premiums are used in part by the women of CODECH to support health-initiative programs in the community. Half of the premium is collected for a women's health workshop in the municipality of Concepcion Huista, which has a high infant-mortality rate.

Sometimes we have Bob Ross style happy little accidents at our Roastery. In this case, we accidently blended together our Holiday Blend with our Hometown Blend. Whoops! But upon tasting, we really liked this mix and decided to combine the two into our Staycation Spring Blend (get it? Hometown-Holiday mix?). This organic coffee is a blend of our Light Roast Guatemala and Peru coffees with a little Vienna Roast Colombia thrown in for good measure. We tasted springtime floral notes and hints of black tea in the cup.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
